cropped-Self-Portrait-Collage-8.5x10.jpgI am an artist, art teacher, wife and mother of two, in Teaneck N.J. I was raised in upstate NY, lived in Montreal, Quebec for university, and then lived in Jerusalem, Israel. Each place made a great impression on me, and helped shape the way I see the world. Still, the most influential place that I have lived is a sleepaway camp where I spent my summers nestled in the forests of the Berkshire mountains. This is where I developed a sense of wonder and curiosity about nature, learned to be respectful and sensitive to others, learned to honor and value the differences and similarities between people, and where I learned to believe in myself. Through art I have always tapped into these roots, to create, reflect and express.

As Leo Lionni once said, “I have the irresistible urge to make things.” I have tried and loved many different media: painting, drawing, embroidery, ceramics… Lately I have been exploring printmaking methods in my artwork. Please look at the gallery of my art to see some of my recent work. In addition to making art, I love to cook, garden, snowboard and swim.
